Weekend Project And Just Hanging Out

Hey y’all, hey! I have three afternoon quickies to share with you in our blog today. We are loving spring in Washington state! We have had five days in a row with beautiful weather so we are in the back yard working on some projects. In the first video, you’ll see a familiar chair! It’s this one that I found at Habitat for Humanity. Once I “lived” with the new finish for a while, I didn’t like it and decided I’d like to paint it again! Why not, right?

So check out the videos for the chair re-redo, a pond installation, some ducks, chicks, wild bunnies and whatever else comes our way! We are just hanging out girl, enjoying this sunshine and these first days of spring. I hope you’re enjoying your weather whereever you are!

By the way, I’m working on our auction! Be sure to follow our page HERE so you can join in!

Some fun pix from our days in the yard this week:

New baby ducks and chicks in their temporary greenhouse. They are growing so fast! We are watching them super close because of predators. We have things like coyotes, eagles and hawks always looking for a snack!

We’ve been talking about the ducks needing a pond, so we are making them a pool with a water feature. I scored a pump at a Habitat for Humanity thrift store and it works! And we are enjoying the last blooms on this tree. It smells so good!

Here’s one of our chickens named Glider. She’s a fluffy butt! And here are the babies: we are hoping they aren’t all roosters, but pretty sure we are okay in that department! The ducks are Tiffany and Tammy, newest members of the Quack Pack.

We are going to build up around the pond and also make a duck ramp. We found the rocks in our yard and we are planning to utilize rainwater overflow for a future garden. I already love it! The sound of the water is so relaxing.

Day two also included repainting this chair. I used Waverly white wax.

We continued working on the pond on day three. The new baby ducks decided to try it out yesterday, and they were so cute!

We made “rocks” out of concrete and sandwich bags. We just picked up the wet concrete, filled the bags and twisted the open end to close. We then placed the bags around the pond. When the concrete sets up, my husband Dave will torch them and the bags will be gone. (Dave loves to torch stuff.)

Those nice rocks in the front are some we found around our yard. They will be the main ones showing, while the ones we made are more for filler. We are going to put hostas around the pond once it is finished.

The camellia bush is almost done. It was beautiful while it lasted!

I hope you enjoyed our days in the yard! We sure did. Let me know in the comments what’s going on in your backyard!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
