Hey girl, hey! Pinterest made me do this! Search for vintage Christmas ornaments on Pinterest, and you will be so inspired! I pulled out my tins and bags of “littles” and heated up that hot glue and rolled with it!
Check out the video below or just follow along here for some inspiration!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Wood tray, craft sticks, church ornament, Tumbling Tower Game blocks
Amazon: Waverly Antique Wax, Mod Podge, sanding sponge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Gypsy Green, faded burlap
Thrifted: Bits of Christmas ornaments, tart pans, wood beads and “littles”. Most are from Goodwill Outlet bins!
Stash: Epsom Salt
Here are some of the little treasures I’ve collected:

Let’s make it!
I cut craft sticks to fit the bottom of the wood tray, then hot glued them in. This will give the background a shiplap look.
Next I painted the bottom with some thinned out Waverly Antique Wax.
TIP: To thin out Waverly or any water based paint, just add a little water in the lid, or pour out a small amount onto a paper plate and add water.

I painted the sides with Gypsy Green and then dried it with my heat tool and sanded it just a bit. Sanding really brought out the scalloped edge. You can see how the green lightens as it dries.
Next, I watered down some Faded Burlap and created a white washed effect on the tray. I used a paper towel to wipe the excess off.

I chose the church from these Dollar Tree ornaments. Can you tell that I love the red barn? They are so cute, y’all!

I glued two Tumbling Tower Game blocks to the back of the church and hot glued them into the tray. Then I added a ribbon and twine bow. I glued a string of beads on for a hanger and it’s done!
TIP: Use glue sticks to add support to the twine hanger.

For the next project, I used a tart pan, some floral foam and some thrifted vintage littles.
I hot glued some pieces of floral foam into my tart pan, put Mod Podge on the foam, and added Epsom Salt on top. I poured off the extra salt, then painted Mod Podge on the edge and sprinkled glitter on it. (I don’t know if I love that choice of glitter, but it’s ok, y’all! Use what you’ve got!)
I just hot glued some littles and tiny pompoms onto the “snow” and we have an ornament, just right for our tree!
(I meant to add a ribbon for hanging inside the tart pan before I added the foam. After I finished the ornament, I just used hot glue and pressed the ends of the ribbon into the tart pan and that worked.)

You probably have some littles you can use to make something old new again! Just grab your stuff, dump it out on the table, heat up that glue gun and go for it. You will enjoy crafting as well as seeing it on your tree!

I hope you enjoyed these crafts, and maybe just look around to see if you have some littles you can use to create new ornaments! Let me know in the comments what you might create! I appreciate all of your comments.
