Hey girl, hey! Today we are crafting with a rice paper bunny image from Milton’s Daughter, and making a busted canvas to enjoy throughout spring. Bunnies and spring go together like peanut butter and jelly! This is a fun technique, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty!
Check out the video below or follow along here for steps to create your own.

Let’s make it!
But before we get started, check out this Pam by our friend Ms. Judy! She is so stinkin’ cute, y’all!

Now on to today’s craft!
I prepared the base by using Mod Podge to attach scrapbook paper to the front and back of the burlap canvas. Bunny paper on front, blue scrapbook paper on back. Next, I trimmed my bunny from the set of two images.
My friend Stephanie Savoie was hanging out with me in my studio today, and she said to cut the paper / burlap with a big “X”, then cut again in a cross shape.

The paper on the back of the bunny paper is blue, and will roll back to frame the bunny. I just curled the paper edges by curling them around a screwdriver, then used hot glue and also DAP Rapid Fuse glue to tack down the pointed edges. (I used the DAP only because I put a lot of Mod Podge on thick paper and the DAP works better.)
I used clothespins to hold down the curled paper until the glue set.

I painted the white canvas with Mod Podge, then added the bunny rice paper and topped it with Mod Podge. Next, I used Faded Burlap to paint around the bunny and dried it with my heat tool.
I used my glue gun to adhere the bunny canvas to the busted canvas, then dry brushed over the blue curls with the Faded Burlap to give it a vintage feel.

I added a strip of lace, ribbon, raffia and a button to put a bow on the top, then added a beaded hanger to the back. I also went around the edges with my Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink pad, which added to the vintage vibe.
Next, I glued lace trim to the edge, then added a hanger.
TIP: For the hanger, use an equal number of beads and hot glue tied ends to the back of the project, and cover with half craft sticks.

And here she is!

Y’all, I think she turned out so cute! Let me know in the comments if you have tried the busted canvas. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
