Snowman Woodshop Kit

Hey y’all hey! This snow family is just adorable! Look at those expressions… so stinkin’ cute. Not only are they cute, they are in the latest release from the Lizzy and Erin Woodshop! Click here to see them and all of our current launch.

Let’s get crafty and see how much cuter they can get!

Check out the video below, or just follow along here on the blog. You’re sure to get a smile from these little guys!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Snowman Bucket snow family

Various paints for galvanized effect: Gravel Road (gray), Artist’s Loft silver, Folk Art metallic pearl white, black (Y’all, just use what you’ve got!)

Amazon: DAP Rapid Fuse glue, Sanding Sponge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Hobby Lobby: DecoArt texture paste

Stash: Scrapbook paper, ribbon, twine

Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan, Gravel Road

Let’s make it!

I painted the base with White Swan from Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint, then dried it with my heat tool. (You can set yours aside to dry.)

Next I sanded it just a bit. (The last image shows a little hole in the top of one of the snowmen. Yours won’t have a hole.)

For the bucket, I used Gray Granite from Debi’s Design Diary, some black, silver and pearl white. I just put a bit of each color on my palette and picked up some with my brush, then dabbed it on until I liked the finish. You can always paint over it or add lighter or darker colors if needed.

Be sure to paint the edges!

TIP: Practice on something first if you want!

I painted the rim of the bucket gray. It will go just under the top edge.

I used my Posca paint pens (see Amazon link in supply list above) to paint on the faces. You can see the details in the raw wood so you can just follow the lines. You don’t even have to be an artist!

Snowflakes and noses! I painted the snowflakes white, and one of our friends suggested adding some blue to them, and that will make them really stand out.

I painted the noses orange, then decided who got which nose!

I used clothespins to secure the bucket to the snowman base while the glue dried.

I used narrow ribbon for their scarves, and hot glued them with just a smidge of glue.

I added the baby with my DAP glue.

Now for the base! There are two pieces, and only one needs to be painted.

I painted the base white, then added some dimensional paste for texture, then I glued the two pieces together with DAP glue.

I added the banner (it’s scrapbook paper and twine), snowflakes and buttons, and it’s done! Little crocheted hats would be so cute on them, but I do love them just like they are!
