Simple Christmas Tree Featuring Dollar Tree Find!

Hey y’all, hey! I was inspired for this project by a craft I saw on TikTok. The creator used a wood block as a base, but I’m using a small bowl from Dollar Tree. Let’s see how it turns out!

Check out the video below, or follow along here for all the steps.

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Ornaments: rose gold & gold, small bowl

Amazon: Rub ‘n Buff, Mod Podge, Apple Barrel paint: Pavement (grey), Deco Art chalkboard (black) Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Stash: Paint stick (Lowes or Home Depot), star (Hobby Lobby or Walmart), black paint

Let’s make it!

I started out by painting the inside of the little bowl with Mod Podge. This helps the paint to stick to the plastic surface.

The Apple Barrel color Pavement was too grey, so I went over the outside with the little bit of black I had left. Did I forget to Mod Podge the outside? I sure did! But it will be ok!

Next I painted the paint stick. I had already cut off the curved end, so it’s straight on both ends. I dried everything with my heat tool.

TIP: Don’t heat the plastic bowl up too much, it can melt.

I just centered and hot glued the paint stick to the bowl and began adding the ornaments. All of the tops of the ornaments are facing the back.

How it’s going:

I just staggered the ornaments on each row and used Rub ‘n Buff on the star to make it gold. I also added a small bead for the star to stand on.

TIP: Add extra hot glue on the back for more support.

TIP: I do wish I’d picked three colors so they wouldn’t be lined up, but it is very cute!
