Let’s make it!
I’ll be making the Sunflower Fence Board and Decorative Sunflower Cutting Board at the same time. I started the decorative cutting board ahead of the video and I’m going primitive with it!
For the board, I used Waverly Antique Wax, and the following paints: brown, cream and navy blue for the base, streaking the colors on like weathered wood. I made a messy bow, but y’all know that is a ticket to my struggle bus! Bows are not my sweet spot, but I think it might still work out.
I used several colors for the sunflowers on both projects: Deco Earth Paint in Yellow and Sunny Day (I mixed those a little), and I used a palette knife on the cutting board sunflower to create some texture with a lighter shade of yellow and some white. I used brown paint and Waverly Antique Wax for the centers.

I used Deco Earth’s Moss Green, Lucky Green and Deep Forest paints for the stems and leaves. I haven’t glued them yet, just seeing how they look!

I stained the Sunflower Fence Board, then painted it with Debi’s Design Diary White Swan from Milton’s Daughter. Next, I sanded the pieces down and used my ink blending tool to blend the Ranger Distress Oxide ink into the details, spritzing a little with water and wiping the excess off with a paper towel.
I sanded the sunflowers down a bit for a rustic effect.

I added some ink to streak the sunflowers and glued all of the pieces with DAP Rapid Fuse glue. I prefer Stick Fast, but I ran out and need to order more!
I used brown to paint the stand for the decorative cutting board, used hot glue to add the bow, and we’re done!

But wait. Just as we were finishing, we had a chicken emergency! The visiting chicken was fun at first, but there are things a chicken can give, such as eggs. Well, our chicken just gave something she’s been holding onto a while, and it wasn’t an egg! No, thank you, mam!

Here are our projects today, less one chicken! Let me know in the comments which is your favorite!
Thanks so much for stopping by, (well, all of you except the chicken)!
XOXO-Erin
