Hey girl, hey! Today’s project is so easy and y’all, I’m starting out with no electricity in the house! But these transfers don’t need any power tools or anything more than the little rub-on tool that they come with. It’s a satisfying craft that makes anyone look like a skilled artist!

Let’s make it!
But first, check out this smaller project. This is a thrifted glass cabinet door that I used some IOD transfers to create a beautiful piece! Seriously, all I had to do was clean the glass, rub on the transfer and boom. It’s done!
It would be beautiful just hanging on this buffet.

For today’s project, I started out by painting my thrifted buffet with Debi’s Design Diary Hey Sailor (blue). I painted it a few months back, so it’s definitely dry!
The back (in photo) of the furniture is made with a piece of wood paneling that Mr. Erin attached to the buffet. It was originally white.
I wiped it down to be sure there wasn’t any dust on the surface.

These rub on transfers come with a grid sheet, making it easier to position on your project.
You can use these as one whole image by placing the various sheets in sequence, or you can use just parts of it on smaller projects.

I’m using most of the pages because I’m going for a whole design. I placed the focal point in the center of the buffet, and made a mark on the wood so I would know where to put the first image.

I removed the white paper backing and placed the image along the line I drew, then began rubbing the transfer onto the wood using the plastic tool that comes with the transfers.
The design will begin to separate from the grid sheet and now you can see how it is going onto your surface. It is pretty exciting to see it come to life like this!
My surface has slats, so I used the tool to push the transfer in between the grooves.

Placing the next few panels was to repeat this process:
Remove paper backing, line up the image, then start rubbing it on.
Trim off the excess carry sheet if it’s in the way.

The last panel went on just like the others. And now it looks like a work of art!

Isn’t she beautiful? It is amazing how simple it was to create this!
If you want to protect the finish (I know you do!), you can use either of these from Milton’s Daughter: Clear Wax or Big Top furniture finish.
