Y’all know I love some rolling pins, especially when I find them at thrift stores! I saw Jami Ray Vintage use the Iron Orchid Designs (IOD) stamps on rolling pins and I’ve been wanting to try this out, so let’s do it!

Supplies:
These Iron Orchid Designs stamps as well as Debi’s Design Diary paints are so pretty! I know y’all are going to want to see more, so click here to visit Milton’s Daughter’s shop. Use code LIZZYERIN10 for 10% discount where applicable.
Iron Orchid Designs: Ink pad and ink
Debi’s Design Diary DIY paints: Black Wax, Clear Wax, Mint Chip, Aviary (green), Hey Sailor (blue) and White Swan.
Goodwill Outlet: Rolling pins
These silicone stamps are so well made! I used a variety from my collection on these projects.
FYI: The pins will be for decoration only, as they are not suitable for consumable use.

This embossing pin may be my favorite, but y’all, I love them all!

The green one and the one with red on the handles are both vintage, and great finds, especially at the Goodwill Outlet!

Here I am, trying to be a professional crafter, and Aunt Criddy (my sister) showed up and showed out! We always have a great time!

Back to business!
I painted each of the pins with Debi’s Design Diary DIY paints. I used White Swan, Hey Sailor and Mint Chip.

I used the 12″ X 12″ mounting surface that comes with the IOD stamps. It has a grid for placement, and I also used the IOD ink.
Placing the stamps was a breeze. I just chose the ones I liked and put them where I wanted. Next, I inked them with the IOD ink pad and black ink.

Was I a little nervous? Girl, you know I was!
But I carefully rolled the white pin over the inked stamps and hoped for the best.

I did it, y’all! I did it! Oh my gosh, I love it!

Now for the blue. I painted the stamps with White Swan and rolled that blue pin right over them.
Absolutely beautiful, right? But wait till I add some clear wax. Oh. It’s gonna be gorgeous!

I mixed Mint Chip and Aviary to get a close match to the handles of the white pin. My stamp for this layer is a big ole rooster! I painted the green on and rolled the pin over it for a layered element.

Here’s where I added the wax. I used a light coat of the black wax to the green and white pins, and a clear on the blue. Check out the finishes!

Y’all know I have to do a little sanding to add some rustic touches!

And here they are, all gorgeous against my German schmear fireplace. I love how they all turned out!

Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite one! It’s hard for me to decide which one I love the most.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
I never thought about using the stamps in that way! Rolling the pins over the top of the stamp instead of trying to roll the stamp over the pin!! Genius!! I love the rooster best!! ❤️
Oh ! I love, love, love what you did with the rolling pins. Goodwill, here I come. Looks so lovely either displayed on a rolling pin holder or just stacked insides crock pot. You inspired me, going to use Christmas stamps for that season, Halloween stamps, old advertisement stamps, the list is ENDLESS. Thanks so much for sharing & inspiring us. and how about using the old wooden cutting boards to stamp biscuit recipe.
