Primitive Bunny Craft With Dollar Tree Items

Hey girl, hey! Check out this sweet bunny! She is made from a Dollar Tree wood egg and wood heart, plus things from my stash. A great decoration for your Easter display!

Check out the video below or follow along here for all the steps!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Chunky wood Egg, wood heart

Amazon: Black pony beads, Waverly Antique Wax, Deco Earth Paint: pale pink, Micro Sander tool, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan

Stash: Wire (for whiskers), eyeglasses, pipe cleaners, burlap, ribbon, heart button, burlap

Let’s Make it!

I painted the feet and just the edges and sides of the egg with Waverly Antique Wax, then painted the egg with two coats of White Swan, and I dried it with my heat tool. Next, I sanded the edges with my micro sanding tool (Amazon link above).

Later on, I put a light coat of White Swan on the feet.

Y’all know how I say to use what you have? Well, I didn’t have any white pipe cleaners, so I wrapped these bright pink ones for the ears, hot gluing along the way. I glued them to some off white burlap and trimmed around the edges.

I put a little pink on the face for the cheeks and dry brushed White Swan over the pink to tone it down. I just wrapped the wires around a screwdriver to make curly whiskers, then dabbed black paint on them and dried them with my heat tool. I used pony beads for eyes, and added the little heart nose on top of the whiskers, then hot glued the ears and feet onto the bunny.

The ears needed some pink, so I lightly painted the centers.

To make the bow, I just laid strips of fabric in an X and then trimmed and fluffed it, and added it to the top.

Here are some other Easter crafts we have done in the past. The first one is the inspiration for today’s project. That one and the egg “tree” are from a while back. The gumball machine is from just last week. Click HERE to see the blog post.

I took the lens out of some eyeglasses that our friend Becca sent, and glued the wire frame on, and she’s done! How cute is she!

This is a cute one to add to your to-do craft list! Let me know in the comments how you might style your bunny. I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
