“Pretty Spooky” Skull Craft

Hey girl, hey! Today we are creating a Halloween skull project and adding florals, making it “pretty (and) spooky”! Most of the supplies are from the Dollar Tree, which makes this craft a real bargain!

Check out the video below, or follow along here for all the steps to make one of your own!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Skull, candlestick, round wood sign, two battery operated “LED Emergency” candles, black chalkboard paint, floral foam, moss

Hobby Lobby: Metal ribbon (trim)

Amazon: DAP Rapid Fuse glue Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Stash: Greenery

Let’s make it!

I started by painting the wood circle sign with black chalkboard paint. Next, I wrapped metal ribbon around the edge of the circle and overlapped it a little. I cut it (with scissors), then hot glued it to the edge.

I used DAP Rapid Fuse glue to glue the candlestick to the wood, then brushed it with black paint to make it coordinate with the metal trim.

TIP: You can use E6000 to adhere the pieces onto the wood.

The candlesticks are white and come in a two-pack. They also light up with a white light, but I wanted a more muted tone so I painted the “flames” yellow with a Sharpie Creative Marker. I also grunged up the candlesticks by wiping a paper towel with black paint over them.

The candlesticks use batteries and just twist on and off.

I used floral foam as the base for the flowers, and hot glued moss to it and then added the flowers. I hot glued the arrangement to the circle, then added the skull with hot glue. Next came flowers and greenery for the skull and extra pieces of greenery on the base.

One candle is hot glued to the floral foam, the other is glued to a large bead that I used as a riser to make the candle taller.

I just added greenery, “lit” the candles, and we have a “Pretty Spooky Skull” craft!

I hope you enjoyed this craft. It sure was fun to make! Let me know in the comments how you might style your own “Pretty Spooky Skull”! I appreciate each and every comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
