Potted Tulips From The Lizzy And Erin Woodshop!

Hey y’all, hey! These are so stinkin’ cute, and just right for welcoming spring. It really is just around the corner… we have had a couple of hints with pretty days here and there, and I can’t wait!

Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps! This project is easy and fun AND sure to brighten up your decor!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Potted Tulips

Dollar Tree: Ribbon, twisted paper ribbon

Amazon: Mod Podge, DAP Rapid Fuse glue, sanding sponge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Tuesday Morning: Napkin

Stash: Burlap, paper ribbon, moss

Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: Petticoat Pink, White Swan, Gypsy Green

Walmart: Pale Daffodil Apple Barrel paint

Let’s make it!

I painted the flower pot with White Swan. We are using only one ply of the napkin and you can see through it, so a white background helps!

I separated the napkin down to a single ply, then painted the pot with Mod Podge and placed my napkin over that.

Next, I dried it with my heat tool and then sanded the extra napkin from the edges.

Y’all know I like to have some texture, right? Well, this twisted paper ribbon was perfect for the leaves. You can see it in the supply picture above. It comes in a rope that you can cut a piece off, open the paper and trace whatever pattern you need. There’s a gazillion other things you can do with it, but this is how we are using it today (even though mine is a tangled up hot mess right now!)

I just hot glued it on to the leaves that I painted with Gypsy Green. I glued a little at a time so I could smooth it out.

I grabbed my hot glue but meant to put the pot together with super glue! It’s all good, though! I used a clothespin to hold the pieces together so they would dry as flat as possible. Super glue (I usually use DAP Rapid Fuse) is great for adhering wood pieces because it dries flat.

I covered the stand with burlap (you can see it in the foreground of the picture below), and now it’s time to paint the flowers. I used Debi’s Design Diary Petticoat Pink and White Swan and also Pale Daffodil from Apple Barrel.

I sanded them down just a bit to smooth them all out, then used DAP to glue them on.

I placed the top layer of the flowers just a little off of the base flowers so it looks like there are more in the pot.

I added a little moss, some ribbon and a bow, and we have some spring tulips!

I hope you enjoyed this craft. Be sure to “pick” your flowers from the Lizzy and Erin Woodshop and make some for your own decor! Just click here to see them and all of the latest releases for spring.

I’d love to hear from you, so please let me know in the comments how you would paint your spring flowers! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
