Patriotic Button Flag

Hey y’all, hey! How about some patriotic crafting to kick off the upcoming summer? Today we are making a button flag, with… buttons! Just wait till you see how fun and easy this project is! You’ll want to try this one.

Check out the videos below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps.

Supplies:

Stash: Red, white and blue buttons, wood sign for the surface, music sheets

Amazon: Stick Fast glue, Mod Podge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax

Let’s make it!

I started out by painting Mod Podge onto my wood surface, then added the music sheets. Next, I put Mod Podge on top of the sheets and dried it with my heat tool.

I used freezer paper and my mini iron to remove a few bubbles after the Mod Podge dried.

I spritzed a little water along the edges so I could distress the pages a bit with Waverly Antique Wax. I wiped off the excess and dried it with my heat tool.

I just penciled in the shape of a wavy flag to have some guidelines for my buttons placement. Next, I began adding buttons with Stick Fast glue (the thick kind). Hot glue is too stringy and lumpy, so I recommend Stick Fast.

I used the bigger buttons for the main parts and topped them with smaller buttons if there was a gap. Tiny white buttons make the stars, but if you have little white stars, use those!

TIP: If you don’t have enough buttons, just use paint to make them the color you need.

And just like that, we have a fun patriotic project!

Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite button craft! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
