October 2025 Woodshop Launch Day Four!

Hey y’all, hey! It’s day FOUR of our Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch, and what a launch it is! In honor of the upcoming Veterans Day we are crafting the Flag of the United States, and we are making it MANLY for all those man caves out there! We are also making our Gingerbread Trees Shelf Sitters. I’ll be using a special technique for the Flag, and those whimsical trees are just stinkin’ cute!

We have a parade of items for Veterans Day, just click HERE to see them!

Did you see the first three days of our launch? Click HERE for day one, HERE for day two and HERE for day three!

Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps!

Supplies:

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Mint Chip

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Flag of the United States and the Gingerbread Trees Shelf Sitters

Amazon: DAP Rapid Fuse Glue, Sharpie Creative Markers, Makeup Sponges, Apple Barrel: Nutmeg Brown and Warm Buff, Deco Earth Paint: Dusty Rose and Carnation Pink Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

I started by using Mint Chip from Debi’s Design Diary for our first tree. I’m also using a mix of Deco Earth Paint Dusty Rose and Carnation Pink, and Apple Barrel’s Nutmeg Brown and Warm Buff for the other trees.

But that first one: Mint Chip. Girl, the coverage from Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint is phenomenal! Check it all out at Milton’s Daughter. The others (pink and beige) are Apple Barrel. I used Debi’s Design Diary White Swan for the white layers and makeup sponges to apply the paint. The red color on the peppermints are from my Sharpie Creative Markers.

I painted all the pieces, used DAP Rapid Fuse Glue to add the white layers, the hearts and peppermints, and they are ready for display! They are so cute with the gingerbread houses!

Now for the Flag of the United States!

We are making this one manly, y’all. I already started on it by torching the wood, and I used Waverly Antique Wax watered down a little to make a stain on the base piece. I used Waverly on the trim (top layer) also. You can see in the third image that the area with the stars are not yet burned. I used a torch (please observe all safety rules) to burn the wood, just enough to make it rustic. The last two images reveal the amount of rustic the torch method added.

TIP: Torch paste is available on Amazon. You would heat it with a heat tool.

I glued the layers together with DAP Rapid Fuse glue, clamped them together with clothes pins and we have two amazing projects!

Let me know in the comments which project is your favorite! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
