Hey girl, hey! It’s November already, y’all, and we are here with our monthly Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch! Each month we offer something for everyone, AND we have giveaways during the launch and a BIG giveaway on the Monday after. Be sure to watch the video, visit the Woodshop, and check out this blog for all the details so you can make yours in time to decorate or share as gifts!
Let’s kick this off with this beautiful Light Up Snow Globe Church project!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Light Up Snow Globe Church
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: White Swan
Dollar Tree: Stained glass looking butterflies
Amazon: Stick Fast Glue, Apple Barrel paint: Baby Blue, Waverly Antique Wax, Deco Earth green paint, Toolie Art paint pens Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Before we get started, here are some nativity pieces that I painted and I absolutely love! The Joy 3D Shelf Sitter Bethlehem Nativity Scene features the nativity inside the word JOY, and the Large Nativity Scene has removable pieces for easy storage.
Let’s make it!
This kit comes with battery powered LED lights that you can put through the hole in the back. I painted the background with Apple Barrel Baby Blue paint and went back over it with a dry brush white.
I also painted the church, snow and snowflakes with Debi’s Design Diary DIY White Swan paint from Milton’s Daughter, the trees and wreath green from Deco Earth and the doors, windows and cross with Waverly Antique Wax. I used Toolie Art paint pens for the yellow star and the stumps on the trees.

I dry brushed white over the pink bow (I painted the bow before my live video), as well as the trees, wreath and all of the brown pieces. I used the blue paint to dry brush a highlight the top of the snow and Waverly Antique Wax around the white pieces.

I placed the pieces on my project before gluing, just to see where they should go.

I marked where the windows are so I could add a stained glass effect with some Dollar Tree butterflies. I chose one that had gold in it, cut it in half and hot glued the two pieces to the surface.

I glued the pieces for the stand together and painted them brown with Waverly Antique Wax, then glued the trees and everything on to the snow globe background. I added the lights to the back, and just used the tape I had on hand to hold them on. That little butterfly sure does accent the windows!
TIP: You can velcro or use magnets to hold the front to the back so you can change the lights out if needed.
TIP: I used DAP Rapid Fuse but I suggest using Stick Fast glue (the thick kind) for your wood projects. Watch the prices on it, it’s just a little more for twice as much. (I need to order more!)

And here’s our first finished kit for the Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch week!

Let me know in the comments what colors you might use for your snow globe kit! I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
