Hey y’all, hey! We are crafting with a canvas I found on clearance today. You may have questions, such as, “How did you do this, and how did you do that?” or “Why are there chickens in the house?” These questions and more will be on the videos below.
Check out the videos below for all the stories or follow along here on the blog for the steps to make your own!

Let’s make it!
Here’s the canvas, just perfect for crafting!

This canvas was serious, y’all! I cut it away from the frame with my Xacto knife and then had to peel the pieces off, I even had to use pliers to get the last bits off.
I cut shims and just tested them with the frame to see how they will make four window panes. They will be permanent shortly, y’all. I alternated and stacked two shims together since they are each narrow on one end (one thin on top the other thin on bottom) and used wood glue to hold them together. This made them the same size on both ends.

I spritzed the frame with water before painting it black. I did the same with the two shims I’ll be using to make the windows.

I painted a light coat of White Swan over the black on the frame and the slats, then wiped the excess off with a wet paper towel.

I used my hammer and Stick Fast glue to put the shims onto the frame.

The wreath was on something else and I’ve kept it for just a project like this. I cut a piece of lace from a thrifted tablecloth to go behind the wreath and hot glued it on.
Next, I hot glued a ribbon hanger to the back of the wreath.

But wait. Our friends on my live suggested making a little screen door! Challenge accepted!
And here we go! One thing about getting crafty, you can always pivot! I painted Mint Chip onto what is now a screen door. I used chicken wire for the back, some banners from Dollar Tree for the top corners, scrapbook cutouts for the little pieces clipped on with clothespins, spindles, skewers and a little spindle for the “door knob”.
But what about that wreath? Oh, girl, it will come around again! Just keep watching!

Let me know in the comments what you have created lately! I appreciate each and every one of you!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
