May 2025 Woodshop Launch: Patriotic Houses and Interchangeable Home Sweet Home

Hey y’all, hey! It’s day THREE of our May 2025 Lizzy and Erin Woodshop Launch, and I’m so glad you’re here! Today I’m crafting with the Smalltown USA and the interchangeable Leaner Board Kit Starter Set featuring “Home Sweet Home”. Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog.

What do we mean by interchangeable? You can change the center panel as well as the “Home Sweet Home” panel out for others that share seasonal or everyday words or wood pieces, and we will launch new ones every month! How cool is that? Click HERE to see more about our interchangeable Woodshop kits.

And remember, on launch week (each month), we have giveaways! Check the video below for details. And we will be having a big giveaway on Monday, May 12 and all you have to do to enter is place an order in the Woodshop!

Here are some of the items you can use to change from the birdhouse to other pieces!

Check out this video for all the fun!

Dollar Tree: Magnets

Let’s make it!

We are doing two crafts today, so I did some prep. We will start with the Small Town USA shelf sitter. I painted most of the small pieces that will go on our houses, and I can’t wait to finish them!

Check out the detail on this! You can see exactly where to place each piece, which makes it so easy to create. The brown is Waverly Antique Wax, the blue is from Deco Art paint (Amazon link above) and the red is Marquee from Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint and Milton’s Daughter. I just painted the pieces, dried them with my heat tool, and glued them with Stick Fast glue. These are so stinkin’ cute, y’all!

Now let’s make the Leaner Board kit! I am so excited with this one, y’all! We are going to have new inserts each month when we do our Woodshop launch. Be sure to follow us here on the blog and on Facebook so you won’t miss anything!

This one is the starter kit, and you’ll want to be sure to order this if you want to use the new pieces each month. There are three support pieces for the back of the surface. I just glued them on to hold the large slats together. The U shaped thing is a slide-in feature so you can change out the greeting at the bottom. I just glued the pieces together and used clothespins to hold until the glue set. Note there’s a spacer to make it wide enough to interchange the panels.

I glued a magnet on the back of the birdhouse panel. Once the glue under the magnet dried, I added the second magnet to the first (they are now stacked together), added glue to the second magnet, then placed the panel on my surface. This method allows the magnets to line up and there’s no guessing where to place the second one.

This is how the bottom panel works:

How cute is this!

And here are our finished projects! I hope you enjoyed our crafts today. Let me know in the comments what you think! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
