May 2025 Woodshop Launch: Patriotic Door Sign

Hey girl, hey! Y’all know what time it is? It’s time for the monthly Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch! It’s so exciting, and I am loving these designs! I’ll share something each day this week, so be sure to follow us on Facebook HERE. Check out the whole launch HERE, and watch the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the details to make your own.

And by the way, we have giveaways throughout the launch and the biggest one on the following Monday! You won’t want to miss it, so follow us on the Facebook link above for more info.

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: God Bless America door hanger

Amazon: Bead threader, Stick Fast thick glue, Deco Earth paint: Maritime Blue, Waverly Antique Wax, Waverly White Wax Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Marquee (red)

Walmart: Stained beads (Christmas clearance)

Let’s make it!

I’m starting out with the God Bless America door sign, and don’t you love the layers of bunting along the bottom? I put a very light stain (added water to some Waverly Antique Wax) just on the top of the circle where the words will go. Once I had the stain on, I wiped off the excess with a paper towel. (I later painted more stain just along the edge since it can be seen under the bunting.)

I painted the stars and letters white. The easiest way to paint small pieces is to put them on the sticky side of masking tape. Next, I painted the blue parts with Maritime Blue from Deco Earth paint, the white with Waverly White Wax and the red with Marquee from Debi’s Design Diary. I dried the paint with my heat tool.

Our project so far!

I sanded all the parts, glued the pieces with Stick Fast thick glue, and used clothes pins to hold everything together. Next, I added a bow, and then added a string of beads for a hanger.

TIP: Use an even number of beads so your project will hang evenly.

And how cute is this! It will be perfect for July 4!

I hope you enjoyed this craft! Let me know in the comments how you decorate for the fourth of July! I appreciate each and every comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
