March 2026 Woodshop Launch: Spring Egg Basket!

Hey girl, hey! Today we are making a sweet Easter basket with painted eggs, with one of the eggs featuring a spring napkin!

Check out the video below, or follow along here for all the steps.

Supplies:

Erin Elizabeth Inspired Woodshop: Egg Basket Shelf Sitter

Lizzy and Erin Designs: Custom Lil Hickabilly paint brush

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Bohemian Blue and Mint Chip

Amazon: Ranger Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink, Stick Fast thick glue, Gator Microzip Sander, Mod Podge, Apple Barrel pink and lavender, Sharpie Creative Markers Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax

Let’s make it!

I used a makeup sponge to apply Waverly Antique Wax on the base, basket, trim and handle, being sure to paint the outside edges.

I used Apple Barrel paint to color the pink and lavender eggs, and also a coat of white on the middle egg so the wood won’t show through the napkin. I separated the napkin layers and used Mod Podge to cover the middle egg.

I used my torch to burn the napkin edges (use extreme caution if you choose fire!) then my Gator Microzip sander to smooth the edges a bit more. You do not need to burn the napkin, and definitely don’t use this method for a kid’s craft. You can sand the edges or use a nail file to remove the excess.

I painted the lace with Apple Barrel white.

The single egg layer is supposed to go on the back, but a friend suggested to add it to the front. I just painted the area I’d left undone and it worked!

I glued my wood pieces together with Stick Fast (thick) glue and painted the lace with white. I also gave the entire project a white wash, then enhanced the edges with my Ranger Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink pad and glued on the lace.

I added a bow on top, and she’s finished!

Here’s our Erin Elizabeth Inspired Woodshop Craft Room Sign. I painted it with Debi’s Design Diary DIY Bohemian Blue and Mint Chip paint and used my gray Sharpie Creative Marker for the lines above and below “Craft Room”. Check it out by clicking on the image.
