Let’s make it!
Before we begin, let’s talk about those interchangeables! They are easy to create and fun to display during various seasons, and quick to release and snap in the new one! Here are some we’ve released so far: Click HERE to see them!

Ok, back to the birdhouse! I painted the base with a light green from Deco Earth and dried it with my heat tool. I put Mod Podge on the house and added scrapbook paper on top. I trimmed the excess with my scissors and used my Xacto knife to cut out the scrapbook paper and open the little windows at top.
TIP: If you’re using a napkin (instead of scrapbook paper), paint the surface white first. Otherwise, the wood may show through.

I used Debi’s Design Diary DIY White Swan Paint from Milton’s Daughter to paint the eve of the house and the “spring” letters. I used Waverly Antique Wax for the fence and window. I used my Sharpie Creative Markers for the birds and the flower, then White Swan paint and my custom Lil Hickabilly paint brush to whitewash the pieces. I also used my Ranger Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink pad to darken the edges.
TIP: Put pieces on the sticky side of painters tape to make painting easier.

I used Stick Fast glue (thick) to glue the pieces together and my white paint pen to make highlights and little dots on the background.
TIP: Watch for a tiny piece that goes under the bird to support it.

And we have an adorable spring birdhouse!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
