March 2025 Woodshop Launch: More Sweet Spring Projects!

Hey girl, hey! We are crafting outside because it’s a beautiful day here in Washington State and it’s just too pretty to be inside. There are four, yes, FOUR projects today, and I’m pretty excited to be outdoors crafting. But y’all, besides crafting, we also have baby chicks and ducks enjoying the sunshine!

We always host a big release on the first week of the month from our Lizzy And Erin Woodshop, and we have giveaways! Check out the video below for all the details!

Hobby Lobby: Newsprint gift tissue

Before we get crafty, here are the new babies! They are so stinkin’ cute I just can’t stand it!

I know we can’t ever get enough cuteness, but let’s get on with the crafts!

Let’s make it!

Our first project is the Daisy Pitcher Picture. I have already painted the daisies, greenery and background. I did a fun technique on the background, y’all! I painted it white and layered on a sheet of newsprint tissue paper (like gift tissue paper) to create a vintage look.

I used Mint Chip for the scalloped layer of the frame and for the pitcher, I used Deco Earth gray and Folk Art metallic silver to make the pitcher look galvanized. I sanded each painted piece with my micro sanding tool and glued the pieces together with Stick Fast glue.

I’ll make a beaded hanger for it and I may add a bow on the pitcher.

TIP: Use a thin super glue for adhering your wood pieces together. Hot glue is clumpy!

Now let’s make the Chubby Bunnies!

I painted the bunnies with White Swan and used my Toolie Art paint pen to add pink to their ears and flowers. I used Waverly Antique Wax for their bases, then sanded all of the painted pieces with my micro sanding tool. I used Stick Fast glue to adhere the pieces together.

I dry brushed white over the pink on both bunnies.

You might notice that the bases are different on the finished bunnies, that’s because I glued the pieces together before I checked the fit! Be sure and check before gluing yours so you’ll know which base goes on top. Remember, I make all the mistakes so you don’t have to! LOL!

And now for the candle holders! We have the church and the bunny!

I used pastel colors to paint the small details before going live, and Mod Podge to add scrapbook paper to the egg shape. I painted the church with White Swan. Then I painted the circular bases for both projects with Waverly Antique Wax. I also used Waverly for the bunny base and for the tiny accents on the church. I dry brushed white onto all of the pieces painted brown, sanded the painted pieces and glued the layers together with Stick Fast glue.

TIP: Use clothespins to hold pieces together while the glue dries.

And here are our finished projects! Do you have a favorite? Let me know in the comments! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
