Hey y’all, hey! These Dollar Tree stackable pumpkins were $5 last year, but are now $7! Still a bargain for some pretty fall decor, though. Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps to create your own!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Designs: Lil Hickabilly paint brush
Amazon: Super Moss Aspen Excelsior Grass, Mod Podge, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Hey Sailor (blue), White Swan
Dollar Tree: Stackable pumpkins
Hobby Lobby: Napkins (party section), Natural Jute Lattice Ribbon
Let’s make it!
The pumpkins come in a three-pack, and snap together to make a tower. I am designing this one to coordinate with the one we made last year. It is smaller and stands on a candlestick.
I used Mod Podge to layer the napkins onto my pumpkins. I painted the Mod Podge on with my custom Lil Hickabilly paint brush from our shop in Lizzy and Erin Designs, and then applied a single ply of the napkins. I put another coat of Mod Podge over the napkins. I used a thin coat for each application.
There will be some overlapping due to the shape of the pumpkins.
I dried the Mod Podge carefully with my heat tool because the pumpkins are plastic.
TIP: Always separate the layers of napkins to use only the printed layer when using Mod Podge. You can peel them apart or use rolled Scotch tape on both sides to help separate them.
TIP: A busy pattern on napkins is easier to use unless you want to cut pieces of the pattern out.

I did the smallest pumpkin next, using cutouts from the napkins. I used the same process for that one as above. It’s already so pretty even though the middle one isn’t done!

For the middle pumpkin, I used two coats of Hey Sailor (blue) from Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint, drying between coats. This blue is beautiful, y’all! It lightens up when dry to a perfect blue!

I wanted a white washed effect, so I used a watered-down, light coat of White Swan on the pumpkins, then wiped it off with a wet paper towel. I even spritzed my paint brush!

Before whitewash and after:

To finish, I used Super Moss Aspen Excelsior grass, some greenery and a Hobby Lobby jute lattice ribbon. And we have a beautiful set of pumpkins for a fall display!

Let me know in the comments if you are planning a fall craft! I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
