Let’s DIY This Viral Ghost Swing Decoration

Hey y’all, hey! Have you seen the swinging ghost that is all over Tik Tok? Well, we are going to craft one! Making a viral craft project with few supplies is so much fun! We are making our own version with a doily, some twigs, a doily and some flowers.

Check out the video below, or follow along here on the blog… and don’t miss out the link near the bottom for a quick craft!

Supplies:

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Dark and Decrepit

Hobby Lobby: Pumpkins (with the yellow and orange leaves)

Dollar Tree: Small wood pallet, Tumbling Tower Game block (like little Jenga blocks), burlap leaves

Amazon: Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Stash: wood twigs, lace doily, fall leaves, 15″ X 12.5″ wood framed surface, twine

Let’s make it!

I’m using a lot of scrappy supplies to make this viral swinging ghost, y’all!

I painted my surface with two coats of Dark and Decrepit paint from Debi’s Design Diary and Milton’s Daughter and dried it with my heat tool. I placed the twigs and sticks into a branch shape and hot glued them onto the surface.

The swing is part of a Dollar Tree small pallet, cut in half. I used thick twine to make the ropes, and just threaded it between the wood slats, tied a knot, hot glued over the knots then trimmed off the excess twine.

I spritzed water into the lid of my Waverly Antique Wax to stain the swing, then wiped off the excess with a paper towel.

I added a Tumbling Tower Game block from Dollar Tree. It’s like a little Jenga block.

I hot glued the swing to the surface, then hot glued the twine to the branch.

For the “ghost”, I arranged my doily and hot glued at the head, the middle and then where it sits on the swing. I wanted to keep folds in the doily, so I just adjusted it as needed.

I added some fall leaves onto the branch, then I painted black on paper for the eyes, and cut them out. I didn’t have black fabric or paper, so paint worked!

I added a pumpkin and she’s done! How cute is this!

I made this one yesterday as a quick project, and it’s so stinkin’ cute! It’s just a Dollar Tree platter, a doily and some flowers, y’all! Click HERE to see the video!

Let me know in the comments which is your favorite ghost! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
