Hey girl, hey! It’s day three of our Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch, and I’m crafting with these Patriotic Popsicles Shelf Sitters! I’m going for a primitive look, but y’all can customize yours just for you! Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog to get some ideas.

Let’s make it!
I prepainted a few pieces, then started painting a sign that will serve as the surface. I used makeup sponges to apply the paint, and so far I like using those! Once it was all painted, I dried it with my heat tool and sanded it just a bit, then hot glued a piece of burlap to the surface.
I used berry red, yellow and white paint from Apple Barrel and Maritime blue from Deco Earth, and Toolie Art beige and white (for the stars) paint pens to paint the pieces. I used masking tape to mask off the one with the heart so I could paint the three colors. I left the sticks in their natural color.
I sanded the edges to make them a little more primitive, and glued them onto the surface with Stick Fast glue. I added the accent pieces and some raffia and ribbon, then hot glued the popsicles onto the surface.
TIP: Paint the edges of the popsicles.
