Let’s make it!
We are going to start with the Rustic Tree Pallet Leaner!
I’m using the masking tape technique to paint small pieces. Click HERE to see a quick tutorial! I prepared the pallet surface by painting the edges with watered down Waverly Antique Wax just to distress the edges, then painted the rest of the pallet pieces with White Swan from Debi’s Design Diary. I painted the branches with Gypsy Green, also from Debi’s Design Diary.
But then this happened. I had this bundle of raffia and who-knows-what and I tossed it today, but first I had to try it on to see if maybe I need a new wig!

And now back to the craft!
The surface (pallet) and branches are painted. You can see a little bit of the Waverly (brown) on the edges of the pallet pieces. I dry brushed White Swan onto the branches for a snowy effect.

For the back of the pallet, I put the small boards that come in the kit in between the slats to space them equally, then glued them onto the back with Stick Fast glue, leaving a space on one end for the kickstand.

Building the kickstand: There are four pieces for the stand. Sandwich the two smaller ones together and place the larger ones on the outsides. Glue them together and then glue them in the space left on the end (see image). The longer piece doesn’t need to be glued. It will insert in the kickstand and kick out, then it will be easy to pack up after Christmas!

There’s no right or wrong way to place your branches on the tree base. Just put them however you like! I laid them out and decided how I wanted mine, then glued down the tree base and added the branches.

And she’s done!

Now for the Decorative Tree Shelf Sitter Pair!
There are so many options for these trees, y’all! I decided to go with green, white, black and natural for mine. You could make them classic, traditional, modern or whimsical!
I painted the top layers white and one of the bases Gypsy Green and the other black. I added gold leaf by dabbing some Mod Podge around, then pressing the gold leaf over the Mod Podge. You can use Rub n Buff if you’d prefer. I sanded the pieces a little then glued the layers together.

I glued the base pieces together and inserted the tree trunks. I didn’t glue the trees to the bases so I can remove them and pack them away after the holidays. And they are finished! They really do compliment each other!
