July 2025 Woodshop Launch: Christmas In July #2

Hey y’all, hey! It’s day TWO of our Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch featuring Christmas in July! As crafters, we love to make gifts as well as festive projects for us to enjoy in our own homes. This collection does not disappoint! Can you imagine having gifts finished and ready to wrap, months before Christmas? Instead of fighting the lines at the mall, you can go see Christmas lights, sit by the fire and sip hot chocolate, even go caroling!

Remember we have gift aways with every launch! Click HERE to watch for our Facebook live events! Watch the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps. We are so glad you’re here!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Merry and Bright Door Hanger

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan

Amazon: Sponge sander, Posca Paint Pens, Rub n Buff, Waverly Antique Wax, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

I used Waverly Antique Wax mixed with some water to stain the surface. Later, I added black to the surface by painting some streaks and then wiping them off with a paper towel.

I used the masking tape technique to paint my small pieces. Here’s the tutorial! Then I used a Posca Paint Pens (red and silver) for some of the pieces and White Swan paint to paint others. Then I dried the pieces with my heat tool and sanded them a little.

By the way, I used gold Rub n Buff for the trees. You can paint it on or apply it with your fingertip.

You can see the darker surface here. Once it was dry, I began placing my pieces on by using Stick Fast glue.

TIP: Use a liquid glue for wood like this. Hot glue is clumpy and doesn’t allow pieces to lie flat.

I used Christmas sprigs, added a bow and some red beads for the hanger. I hot glued the hanger on the back and used craft sticks to secure the ends of the beaded string.

And she’s beautiful, y’all! Let me know in the comments: what colors would you use for yours? I appreciate each and every one of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
