January 2025 Woodshop Launch: XOXO Insert AND the Marquee “Love” sign

Hey y’all, hey! I am having fun with the January 2025 Lizzy and Erin Woodshop launch! Today we are crafting with the “XOXO” insert for the Interchangeable Frame and the Marquee-inspired “LOVE” sign.

What do I mean by “interchangeable”? The XOXO fits into THIS frame! We have several in the Woodshop, just click HERE to see them.

Check out the video below, or just follow along here on the blog for all the steps to create your own!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: XOXO insert, LOVE sign

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: White Swan, Petticoat Pink, Marquee (red)

Amazon: DAP Rapid Fuse glue, Xacto knife, Deco Earth black paint, Sharpie Creative Markers- gray, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

I taped my letters and hearts to some masking tape to make it easier to paint. I used Petticoat Pink on all except for the small heart on the Marquee LOVE sign. That one is Marquee (red).

I used White Swan for the back of the interchangeable insert and also for the thin Marquee “LOVE” layer (see finished image at top of blog). I used my gray Sharpie Creative Marker for the top layer of the Marquee “LOVE”. I used black Deco Earth paint for the XOXO and dried everything with my heat tool.

I sanded everything just a little once the paint was dry. My Xacto knife worked perfectly to enhance the lines after painting the base of the insert of the XOXO. The dots on the Marquee “LOVE” are painted white, the base (stand) is black, then sanded, and I used DAP glue to adhere the layers together.

TIP: Paint the edges, inside and out. The base layer of the Marquee “LOVE” can remain unpainted. The letters will cover it.

TIP: Use clothespins to hold the layers together until they dry.

DAP Rapid Fuse glue is a great option for these wood projects.

Here are our finished pieces!

I hope you’ll try some of these Valentine crafts! Click HERE to see the entire Woodshop release. Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite. I appreciate each and every one of you.

XOXO-Erin
