Let’s make it!
But first, how about a peek at this cutie? Here’s a preview of another release, the S’mores Station! It would be perfect outside by the fire pit or the grill. Just paint it like you want and then seal it if you’re going to use it outside. Click here to see it in the shop!

Our project today is this interchangeable frame! It’s so versatile! There are already various inserts available, and more to come. Check it out here!
It comes with a kickstand and four frame pieces, plus an insert that says “home”.
I used DAP Rapid Fuse super glue to put the layers of frames together. This glue is thin and dries quickly!
Once I got all the pieces of the frame together, I painted it with White Swan from Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint.

I sanded down the frame, this time pretty heavily, to get this effect:

I used Waverly Antique Wax (you can use brown paint, just water it down) to paint over the White Swan, but just in a small section. Then I spritzed a paper towel and rubbed off most of the paint. I repeated the process until the frame was painted, then glued the backing on.
TIP: Paint the edges of the backing so it will match the frame.

We are ready for the kickstand on the back now that the backing is glued in place.
That hole in the center is where you will press your panel out and add a new one!

Very important step:
Do not glue the actual stand onto the backing.
There are two small wood pieces that will enable the stand to move, and those will be glued on after the bar.
To glue the bar, you will use the stand only to determine the position of the bar. Line the feet up at the center and bottom (image 2).
Place the bar at the top of the stand, remove the stand and glue the bar down exactly as it sat on top of the stand.
Next, glue ONE of the small pieces into the notch on the bar. When it is dry, put the stand into the hole. Then put the stand in the hole of the second small piece, and then glue that small piece into the next notch.

I painted the insert with White Swan, then the “home” sentiment with black.

I used my Xacto knife to define the lines in the insert, then sanded it down. I also sanded down the edges to remove any excess paint and be sure the panel would fit properly.

And here it is! I’m pretty excited that this is interchangeable and I can use it for so many purposes!

Here are some MORE inserts to enjoy! I can’t wait to share all of the upcoming inserts!

Let me know in the comments what your favorite panel is! I appreciate and read all of your comments!
