Hey y’all, hey! It’s the first week of the month, so that means we have a NEW Woodshop release! Click here to see them all!
We are crafting a “Three-fer” today with the “Home” sign, the Pumpkin Shelf Sitter and our Sunflower Panel from our Woodshop, so check out the video below or follow along here for all the steps: (There are two videos because I had to leave to pick up my son, so be sure to see the second one where I finish the pumpkin and create the Sunflower Panel project.)

Let’s make it!
For the “Home” project: I painted the base with Hey Sailor (blue) and I used White Swan for the letters and frame with paint from Debi’s Design Diary. I misted the blue base with water and then dry brushed some white over the blue.
Once dry, I sanded all of the pieces just a bit.
TIP: Use tape to hold your letters down and be sure to paint your edges.

I decided to stain the frame, so I used Waverly Antique Wax. I painted it on, then wet a paper towel and wiped most of it off, just to get a stained effect.
I also used Waverly Antique Wax for the center of the flower.

I used the new Sharpie Creative Markers to color the sunflower petals. I am enjoying these markers!

You’ll be able to see where your pieces go because the base is etched! So easy!

By the way, I like to use DAP Rapid Fuse glue when gluing wood to wood. It is linked in my Amazon store in the supply list above.
Tip: Use clothespins to hold your pieces on until the glue dries.

And our first project is finished!

I decided to make the pumpkin raggedy, so I used fabric strips and hot glue.
I just hot glued a strip at the bottom of the pumpkin, twisted it, and glued it along the edge, then on the top. I continued until the pumpkin was covered with the raggedy strips.

I painted the pumpkin’s sunflower with Liquid Sunshine (yellow) and then sanded it down a little. Then I used Waverly Antique Wax to age the petals.
I used DAP Rapid Fuse glue to glue the two base pieces together, then painted it with Waverly Antique Wax. I also used a small piece of burlap for the stem
I painted the leaf with Gypsy Green, then dry brushed the edge with Waverly Antique Wax.
TIP: You can glue the pumpkin to the base, but you can also leave it detachable for easier storage.

And now for the Sunflower Panel!
I painted the sunflowers with yellow, then touched up the sides with Waverly. I stained the centers and the base with Waverly, and then painted a light coat of Faded Burlap on the base. (You can see the etched pattern in the base, so it’s really easy to place the pieces.)
Next, I sanded all of the pieces down a little.

I put the leaves and stem on masking tape, then painted them with Gypsy Green. I glued the pieces on with DAP Rapid Fuse.

I put Mod Podge on my canvas, then separated a napkin and put the decorative layer on the canvas. I dried it with my heat tool, then sanded the edges.
I painted the “Thankful” with Faded Burlap, added some white highlights with my Sharpie Creative Marker, then added a strip of burlap fabric to put under it.
I used hot glue to adhere the pieces to the canvas.
I added a rope trim around the edge, added a hanger, and we’re all done!

I hope you enjoyed these crafts! Let me know in the comments what your favorite is! I appreciate all of your comments!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
