“Hello Fall” Flower Vase Sign

Hey girl, hey! Y’all, this might be my new favorite!

I love how it came together. Check out the video below or follow along here for all the steps.

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Wood sign, wood cubes, string of wood beads, “hello fall” sentiment, moss, greenery, foil flakes.

Stash: Hymnal sheets, scrapbook paper, burlap, buttons

Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax

Hobby Lobby: Small cutting board, cream berry garland

Amazon: half round beads Click here to check out my favorite crafting supplies (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: Aviary

Let’s make it!

This cute little cutting board came from Hobby Lobby. The tag says $7.99 but y’all know I got it on sale.

And how about some mini cupcake liners for flowers? These are so cute! I got them from Easter clearance, and they are perfect for fall.

For my surface, I tore pieces of the hymnal sheets and painted on a layer of Mod Podge, then placed the pieces and put Mod Podge over them. I dried it with my heat tool, but you can also set yours aside to dry or use a hair dryer.

TIP: You can make copies of your hymnal sheets to use if you don’t want to use the actual sheets. If you need a hymnal, just look for one at yard sales and thrift stores. No hymnal? Just print some music sheets. (There are some free ones online.)

Now let’s give it some age. I dipped my brush into water, then into Waverly Antique Wax and painted it on. I then spritzed with water and used a paper towel to remove most of the wax.

This makes the edges of the pieces stand out, like they are old, ragged and worn.

Y’all. I am on the struggle bus when it comes to cutting out circles! Use things like different sizes of jar lids if you also get ovals (like I did) when trying to cut a circle on the fold of paper. It is what it is, y’all!

I glued the layers together with hot glue, then fluffed and crinkled them a bit.

TIP: For more texture, after you crinkle your papers you can also tear the edges, and you can also stain or ink the edges with a blending brush if you want.

I painted the little cutting board with Debi’s Design Diary Aviary. Next, I painted a little Mod Podge on and then added some of the foil flakes. Another coat of Mod Podge on top, then the same process all over the wood piece, including the edges. I just worked on a small area at a time.

The top of the board won’t show, so I didn’t worry about that part.

Here’s the finished piece. I’m loving it, y’all!

All of the small details are done, so let’s put it all together!

I hot glued the cutting board to my surface, then added the moss, greenery and bits from my berry garland. Next, I put a little wood cube from Dollar Tree under the flowers to make them stand up better.

My hanger is made from a string of beads from Dollar Tree. I just cut some off, removed the extra beads and tied off (and hot glued) the ends. I put hot glue on the back, and then laid the twine ends in the glue. More hot glue on top, then I covered each end with a piece of a craft stick

And here we are! Seriously, though, THIS might be my new favorite!

I hope y’all enjoyed this craft! I sure enjoyed making it. Let me know in the comments what you think! And thank you so much for stopping by.

XOXO-Erin
