Happy Fall Chicken Wire Wreath

Hey girl, hey! My friend Stephanie brought a bag of corn husks for me to craft with, and this project had to happen! I feel like it’s rustic but also minimalistic style, so we are going to make it a combo!

Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps.

Supplies:

Amazon: Bead threader, Waverly Antique Wax, zip ties Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Dollar Tree: DIY Letter Board (bought a while ago), pinecone / sunflower pick

Stash: Craft sticks, wire, twine, chicken wire / grapevine wreath (the company isn’t open anymore, but you can make one!)

Walmart: Wood beads

Let’s make it!

I bought the chicken wire / grapevine wreath a while back. I painted the letter board with Waverly Antique Wax and dried it with my heat tool, then hot glued wire on the back. I used craft sticks to secure the wire so I can add it to the wreath. I added my letters (they are paper) and put a thin line of hot glue to keep them straight, but you can use Mod Podge instead.

I tied the corn husks into bundles with twine and used zip ties to put them onto the chicken wire. Then I realized I could have waited to zip tie all the bundles of husks and greenery! It’s fine, y’all. It’s fine. Everything is fine. I used zip ties to bundle everything!

I threaded the wires on the back of my letter board through the chicken wire, then twisted them to secure the board, and clipped the excess off of the wires.

I checked the placement of my board and added a beaded hanger. I used a bead threader from Amazon (linked above). These are so easy, just add your beads, then put a knot in your twine, feed it through the eye and pull the beads onto the twine. Repeat until you have the length you need. You should use an even number of beads so your project will hang evenly.

I tied the hanger to the back and we’re done!
