From Dollar Tree Sign To Easter Bunny Cutie!

This is a fun and easy craft using a Dollar Tree wood sign that is wide enough to be a shelf sitter! I hope it inspires you to get crafty today.

Check out the video below for all the fun, or follow along here on the blog for the steps:

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Wooden sign, small wood heart

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint:

Amazon: Plastic eyes, Ranger Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink, Apple Barrel white paint, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Hobby Lobby: Wood mini bows (from the spring shop)

Walmart: Fabric

Stash: Pipe cleaners (use white if you have them), glasses (from friend Bekah), burlap, little bejeweled flowers (from our friend Lori).

Let’s make it!

I used my heat tool and removed the sticker from the back. I used Apple Barrel white paint to paint the sides and back.

I shaped pink pipe cleaners into “ears” and traced the shape with hot glue, laid the fabric over them and then trimmed the edges. I repeated these steps for the back of the ears.

I bent the ears just a little and set them aside to do the face.

TIP: You can leave the wire design or remove it and paint over the surface.

I painted rosy cheeks with Apple Barrel pink and and added a light coat of white to tone it down, then dried it with my heat tool. I used my Ranger Distress Oxide ink pad (Ground Espresso) to add some brown along the edges.

I hot glued the ears to the back and added a piece of burlap to the back for extra security.

I used a Dollar Tree wood heart for the nose, and darkened it up just a little with my Ranger ink pad and placed it upside down on the bunny.

I used my metal snips to remove the ear and nose pieces from the eyeglasses so they will lie flat on the bunny face. I used hot glue to put the glasses and little eyes on.

Next, I added a mouth and whiskers with a black pen and two strips of burlap for a bow. I formed an “X” with the burlap and used twine to tie it. I hot glued the bow on, just a bit to one side. I hot glued a little wood bow from Hobby Lobby and a pink flower to top the burlap bow.

TIP: Put your bunny face a bit higher up. Mine has a big forehead LOL!

And we have a new cute bunny friend to enjoy all through spring!

Let me know in the comments what is on your spring crafting list! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
