Framed Rice Paper Vintage Bunny

Hey girl, hey! This is a quickie project that uses just a few items, and y’all, look how pretty it is! The rice paper bunny print is from Milton’s Daughter, and I seriously just can’t get enough of it.

Check our the video below, or follow along here on the blog for the steps to make one of your own. By the way, I share more beautiful prints from Milton’s Daughter on the video, so don’t miss seeing them!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Sign, wood beads, black paint

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint (our favorite paint!) Hey Sailor, AB Studio decoupage rice paper Easter Bunny in a Teacup.

Amazon: Mod Podge, Xacto knife Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

But before we start, here’s the info for Lori at Milton’s Daughter. She is a great friend of ours, an amazing business owner and she carries absolutely beautiful papers, paints, paint inlays, rub ons and more! Check her out by clicking here.

To make it all come together, I first painted the edges of my surface (it is a sign from Dollar Tree) with black, but then decided Hey Sailor (dark blue from Debi’s Design Diary) would look better. That’s why you’ll see some black in the photos.

Then I put white on the flat part of the sign because the color of the surface might show under the rice paper. I then dried it with my heat tool, sanded it down a bit and covered the white area with Mod Podge.

Next, I placed my bunny onto the surface and traced the edges with my fingernail, then used my Xacto knife to cut the excess off.

For the hanger, I used an even number of beads and hot glued the ends of my twine to the back of my project. Then I cut a craft stick and used two pieces to cover the glue and twine for extra security.

TIP: Always use an even number of beads so your project will hang evenly.

By the way, the size of sign I used for my surface is just a little bit longer than my paper, but it works! The white at the bottom looks like a table for the cup to sit on. I added just a little more White Swan over that little spot and it’s just fine!

But y’all, I do love how this bunny turned out! She is vintage and cheerful, and ready for spring!

I hope you enjoyed this project! I sure did. Let me know in the comments what you think! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
