DIY Burlap Ribbon Christmas Tree

Hey Y’all

This super cute Christmas project is so easy, you’ll want to make one for every person you know! I made the Burlap Ribbon version of this one live, and you can watch that right here if you’d like.

What you’ll need:

  • Thicker Ribbon- I used Buffalo Check from Hobby Lobby. I bought it with a 40% off coupon.
  • 3/6 Inch Dowel
  • Wooden Beads (Check the Children’s Craft Section at Hobby Lobby for the ones I used)
  • Scrap wood base (some type of base)

Assemble your scrap wood base and paint/stain it whatever color you like. I used waverly antique wax from Wal Mart. I took a drill the same size as my dowel and made a hole. The goal is to have the dowel rod fit tightly inside the hole.

I added two wooden beads to the bottom.

Then, I took the ribbon and made a slit in it and put it right on to the dowel rod. I did this in an accordion like motion weaving back and forth. Adding a bead between each layer.

Each level of ribbon needs to be slightly shorter so that it makes the shape of a Christmas tree.

At the top, I added a bead, and then a cute re-fabbed bow to finish it out.

I think it turned out absolutely adorable.

I also love the one I made live on facebook. The only difference is, I added a star, and used burlap ribbon.

If you love this super simple ribbon Christmas tree as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and…
