Easter Basket Decor with Bunnies!

Hey y’all! This craft was inspired by our friend Kathy Hillyard. She made hers so cute that I couldn’t wait to put a spin on my own! Here are all the details, plus the video!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: “Hop” bunny signs, Long wood slat, eggs, Tumbling Tower Game blocks, gray moss

Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan

Lowes / Home Depot: Wood Shims. (I would rather have used paint sticks but I didn’t have any).

Michaels Grab Bag / Boxes: Carrots, greenery, bird nest

Goodwill Outlets: Green moss

Stash: Floral foam

Amazon: Xacto knife, sanding sponge. Click here to see some of my very favorite crafting and decorating supplies! (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

I used my Xacto knife to cut around the bunny, then trimmed the edges with scissors.

Then I sanded it down just a bit, and painted it white.

The first picture shows the Dollar Tree long wood slat that will be the bottom, and the shims I will use for the sides.

I painted them white also, then used a Tumbling Tower Game block from Dollar Tree as a connection piece between the bunnies and the wood slat. I just attached them with hot glue because this will be an indoor decor piece.

I attached three wood shims to each side, with Finn overseeing the process. He made a really cute craft of his own that y’all can see in the video!

Be sure to paint the ends and edges of your wood shims if you use them!

I used a dowel and beads in pink and white. They coordinated well with the bunnies!

The dowel is a bit thin, but it needed to fit in the beads. We aren’t going to be carrying it around, so It’s ok.

I used floral foam in the bottom. I also put some of the bright green moss in from Goodwill, but it was really bright, so I added some Spanish moss over it.

TIP: A friend suggested using a slice of a pool noodle if you don’t have floral foam.

I just started adding greenery, some eggs and carrots to my basket.

I wanted a small bunny inside, so I used this one from Dollar Tree. I painted it white on both sides, then separated a two-ply gingham napkin to cover it with.

Some Mod Podge, a bit of sanding, and a little raffia bow, and this bunny is ready for spring!

Here are both sides of my basket. Y’all, I just love how this turned out!

Thanks to our friend Kathy Hillyard for the inspiration! I hope you will add this to your crafting list, and make it your own. Comment below and let me know what you think!

Thank you for stopping by my blog,

XOXO-Erin
