Dollar Tree Pumpkin Scroll Craft

Hey girl, hey! Today’s craft features Dollar Tree supplies that make it a fun and easy project! Just a little bit of paint and some creativity, and you have a sweet pumpkin wall hanging!

Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps.

Supplies:

Amazon: Super Moss Aspen Excelsior Grass, sanding sponge, Ranger Distress Oxide: Ground Espresso ink pad, Deco Earth Paint, Waverly Antique Wax Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Wood round (part of a kit that I’m using to make a pumpkin)

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan

Dollar Tree: 11 X 14 canvas board, beaded pumpkin, green leaves (from a garland), craft sticks, Tumbling Tower game blocks (like little Jengas)

Hobby Lobby: Fabric (clearance), “happy fall” wood sentiment, stem for the pumpkin, half wood beads

Lowes / Home Depot: Thin wood shims (large) from the cabinet section

Stash: Burlap (put behind the beaded pumpkin)

Let’s make it!

I used hot glue to cover the Dollar Tree canvas with fabric. Next, I spritzed the wood shims with water and used a makeup sponge to paint them with Waverly Antique Wax then dried them with my heat tool.

I used just a little green from Deco Earth Paint over the White Swan from Debi’s Design Diary to paint the wood round. I didn’t love the green, y’all, so after I dried it, I sanded it down to lighten it and distressed the edge with Ranger Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink.

I painted the wood stem with Waverly Antique Wax, hot glued shims to the top and bottom of the “scroll”, then added craft sticks to the back to secure the shims.

I added half wood beads to the back of the wood round to elevate it a bit, then glued the small pumpkin to the larger one. I used hot glue to adhere them to the surface. The large one needed another half bead and I glued two game blocks from Dollar Tree together and glued them under the smaller one.

I dabbed Ground Espresso ink and Waverly Antique Wax onto the “happy fall” sentiment to darken it, added the Aspen Excelsior grass, some twine and the leaves. I added a twine hanger with hot glue and covered the ends with strips of fabric for extra security.

And we have a festive pumpkin scroll! Let me know in the comments what you think! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
