Dollar Tree Cathedral Mirror Decor

Hey y’all, hey! We are crafting with some Dollar Tree mirrors today, and making them even more decorative than they already are! They come in black or white, and we will add a shelf that can hold some lightweight little somethings. Follow along to see what happens when we put two of them together.

Check out the video below or see the steps here on the blog so you can make one too!

Supplies:

Amazon: Xacto knife, craft sticks, sanding sponge, DAP Rapid Fuse super glue Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: Apothecary (mint green)

Dollar Tree: Decorative mirrors, wood planks, Tumbling Tower Game blocks (like small Jenga blocks)

Michaels Grab Bags: Art Minds Decorative Shapes (wood scrolls)

Walmart: Apple Barrel black acrylic paint, Folk Art painted finishes (mine is old!)

Let’s make it!

I’m going to start off with a tip: You might be tempted to use hot glue with super glue, but don’t. It creates some pretty bad fumes and might be unsafe!

Y’all. I was so excited to find these mirrors for A BUCK-TWENTY-FIVE at Dollar Tree! I’ve been thinking of how I want to bring it all together, and I couldn’t wait to craft with them!

The shelves I’m using are just wood planks from the Dollar Tree.

The wood scrolls were a bit long for our shelf, so I just used my Xacto knife to score them on the front and the back and I was able to just break off the part that hung over. I used my sanding tool to clean up any rough parts.

I used my DAP Rapid Fuse glue to adhere the scrolly part to the wood plank. It won’t hold a lot of weight, but you can put a little something on it.

I painted it with Apothecary, then checked out how it would look on the white mirror. I’m loving it!

I put the two black mirrors together with craft sticks and hot glue. There’s a little hanger already on them.

I used my old Folk Art painted finishes to add some “rust” to the black mirrors, then used a Dollar Tree Tumbling Tower Game block to secure the shelf.

I finished the white one with a game block just like above, but painted the shelf with Apothecary, then added some greenery. How cute is that little battery operated votive candle on the black one!

I hope this inspires you to create something special for your home today. Let me know in the comments what you might put on that little shelf!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
