December 2025 Woodshop Launch! Day Three: Interchangeable Frame

Hey y’all, hey! It’s launch day three here at the Lizzy and Erin Woodshop, and we are going to create this welcome sign that is interchangeable for all kinds of seasons and occasions. Click HERE to see other optional interchangeables that you can paint and change in your frame. Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog to see all the steps!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: Rustic Interchangeable Frame (The frame comes with this welcome sign!)

Lizzy and Erin Designs: Custom Lil Hickabilly paint brush

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Dark and Decrepit (black), White Swan

Amazon: Stick Fast glue, Gator Microzip Sander, Deco Earth paint: Lucky Green Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

This project will go pretty fast! I painted the blank insert with Dark and Decrepit (black) from Milton’s Daughter and Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint. I used my painters tape to stick the small parts down so I could paint them. I used White Swan from Milton’s Daughter and Lucky Green from Deco Earth paint for the letters and the greenery.

I spritzed the black surface just a little with water and used my Lil Hickabilly paint brush from our own Lizzy and Erin Designs to dry brush white over it. After dry brushing, I sanded it just a bit with my Gator Microzip sander. I also dry brushed some white over the green since it looked a bit dark.

I used Stick Fast glue to put the letters and greenery onto the black insert.

Here are two other inserts that fit into this frame: Snowman Winter Rustic Frame Insert and the Barn Quilt Rustic Frame Insert. Just click on the images to see them in the Woodshop.

And we’re done! It’s rustic and welcoming!

Can you pick a favorite? Let me know in the comments! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
