Hey y’all, hey! On Saturday I participated in a fun crafting event called “Oh My Gourd”, celebrating Miss Shelby’s birthday event hosted by her own Red Brick Home Crafts and co-hosted by Lia from Make All The Things With Me. This event was sponsored by Marchelle from Honey Bee Mercantile and Printables.
Marchelle’s printables are absolutely beautiful. It was so hard to choose which ones I wanted to craft with, but I finally decided! By the way, these are clipped on to the wires so they are interchangeable for different seasons and occasions, and y’all know I love an interchangeable craft!
Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog to see how we made this!

Supplies:

Honey Bee Mercantile and Printables: on Etsy: Halloween printables
Milton’s Daughter: Iron Orchid Designs Letterpress stamps
Amazon: e6000 glue, Ranger Distress Oxide ink: Ground Espresso, Wood beads, Waverly Antique Wax, Mod Podge, rusty stars Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Paint store, Lowes or Home Depot: Paint sticks
Salvaged: Wood plank
Stash: Burlap, clothes pins, fabric strips, wire, raffia
Let’s make it!
I printed the images and then used Mod Podge to adhere them to burlap. I ironed them and fringed the edges of the burlap just by pulling some of the strings out

My husband cut a salvaged board so I could use it for my surface. I just cut some paint sticks to fit the width, then stapled and hot glued them along the back to hold the boards together. I hammered over the staples for extra security.

I laid the printables on the board to see where I wanted them, then used wire from my stash that I painted a bit of Waverly Antique Wax to make it rustic and primitive. I added three wood beads, then stapled the wire (twice) to the board. Once the wire was attached, I just used pliers to curl the ends – mine are actually wire cutters but they worked. I think needle nose pliers would work really well. Uh-oh. I put beads on the top and bottom wires and forgot the middle! It’s ok, y’all. I added an extra bead to the bottom to make up for it!

I used some old clothespins but wanted theme to look older, so I swiped my Ranger Distress Oxide ink pad across them. The color ink I use is called Ground Espresso.
I glued my rusty stars (and a wood heart) onto the clothespins with hot glue and e6000. The hot glue holds it instantly while the e6000 takes longer to dry and makes a permanent hold. I added the printables to the wire with the clothespins. Earlier I had stamped a piece of muslin with Letterpress stamps from Iron Orchid Designs and Milton’s Daughter to add to the project.

I used this cute primitive fabric with little hearts plus raffia to make bows and strips for the wires.

I used my ink pad to make the edges a bit more rustic.

And it’s done! This was fun, y’all. We had a limited amount of time so each crafter could create their project for the event, and badabing! We made it with time to spare. Here’s our finished piece!
