Hey girl, hey! Are y’all wearing a seatbelt? Tighten it up because this struggle bus is leaving the station! My son Finn has decided we need a craft challenge, and it’s the first one we’ve ever done together. He chose my five items and I chose his! Well, that was the plan. He actually chose four of his items!
This challenge is all his idea, and y’all know there will be glitter (Finn) and brainstorming (me) to try and complete this task! There may be a sabotage or two…

Ready, set, GO!
Finn gave me the following items: beads, stars, Scrabble letters, a shelf and a spindle.
I gave Finn: a wood round. Y’all!! He picked the rest! Pipe cleaners, fabric and a small canvas from Dollar Tree. He said he’s making a present, but I think he just wanted to dump glitter. The struggle bus just hit a fence!
Tools, paint and stain are freebies in our craft challenges, so I’m using Waverly Antique Wax for my shelf, which now that I took the hardware off is just a flat surface. At this point Finn is using red paint and fabric.
I know that look, y’all. He’s planning something!
Getting along so well, sharing a precious moment…
AND THEN….
Sabotage! I should have checked that mischievous look! He dumped his glitter onto my project! The timer is running and oh no, he’s ahead by a nose! It was easy to dust off, so we’re all good. Now onto the next steps:
Back on task! I’m catching up, but clearly Finn didn’t have quite enough glitter, so he had to add some.
He’s having a great time…OR he’s planning his next move!
Sabotage part TWO! Not only that, but he’s talking smack, y’all!
Some of our friends on the live voted and said I win because Finn sabotaged the challenge, but others said he wins. Still others said it was a tie. Whichever it was, it was definitely a good time!
