Hey girl, hey! Today’s project really MOOOVES me! This cow, y’all! She’s just the cutest thing.
But where did we get that frame? Well, our latest Lizzy and Erin Woodshop release features an interchangeable frame that allows you to insert different greetings and themes. How cool is that? We will be releasing more, so be sure you’re subscribed to our blog here or following our Facebook page so you won’t miss a thing. (Click on the video below to follow us on Facebook).

Supplies:
This is the first kit you’ll need. It comes with the “home” insert that you can paint or embellish however you wish! Click here to see the blog post where we featured the steps to create it.

Let’s Make it!
Yesterday we made the Interchangeable Frame that serves as a base for our inserts. You can see it by clicking here! We will introduce more inserts in our Lizzy and Erin Woodshop that will be great to use for various occasions and themes. I’m so excited over this project that can be used all year!
Here’s the base and the panel that comes with it. It arrives unfinished, so you can create yours however you like.

Ready to make our “Hey Girl” cow? Me too!
I started by separating the pieces from the base. I’m using White Swan to paint it, and you can see the pattern that tells us where to place the wood pieces on the base.

I used two pieces of masking tape to stick the pieces to. This keeps them from moving around while I’m painting them, and helps also to keep them from getting lost in the process! I used Dollar Tree black paint to paint my pieces.

Next, I dried my pieces with my heat tool.
By the way, did y’all know we have fun in our live videos? I’m a mom of three boys, and we never know what the day might bring!

Once the paint was dry, I sanded down the pieces and the insert just a bit.

Then I used my Xacto knife to follow the lines that are in the insert, making sure the paint doesn’t fill them in.

Meanwhile, THIS happened! There’s a story here… just check out the video above…it will all make sense!

I used DAP Rapid Fuse super glue to put the pieces on the insert. Hot glue is too thick, but super glue dries thin.
By the way, one of our friends sent this hat to me, and it says, “What a difference a Dave makes”! Mr. Erin’s name is Dave, and this hat is great!

And here’s our finished project! Just too cute!

Let me know in the comments how you would finish yours! A bow on the cow’s head? Oh! How about a raffia bow? Different colors of paint? There are so many options to consider! I sure appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
