Hey y’all, hey! This project is so stinkin’ cute! It’s a diorama just for Christmas, and it even lights up! Check out the video or follow along here on the blog.

Dollar Tree: Tin, lights, furniture
Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: Faded Burlap
Amazon: Mod Podge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax
Stash: Little items, wire jute for rug, Christmas scrapbook paper
But first, check out this BOW! Y’all know I can’t make bows, but I did it! I’m so excited, but it sure took a lot of ribbon! Click on the picture to see Lizzy’s tutorial. Hey, if I can do it, you can too!

Let’s make it!
I’m using some littles from my stash, plus a Dollar Tree dollhouse table.

I had some Christmas themed scrapbook paper and cut it down to fit my tin. This will be our wallpaper. I’ll glue it in with Mod Podge.

Next, I painted the sides of the tin with Faded Burlap from Debi’s Design Diary.

I made a little rug with wired jute. Our friends suggested adding a little cat or dog on the rug. That would be so cute!

Next, I painted the table with Waverly Antique Wax. I also painted the drawer pulls with Faded Burlap, and added a strip of ribbon for a table runner.
I hot glued the decorations to the table.

You can see the little hole I made for the lights. I strung the lights through the hole, then hot glued the battery pack to the back.
I glued the lights inside the lid. Be sure you have enough space to put the lid back on!

How cute is this?

Here it is all lit up! I added another tree beside the table, put the lid on, and boom! We have an adorable Christmas diorama!

By the way, we had a visitor in my craft room today. This is Zeus, my son’s 8-9 year old bearded iguana. He comes to hang out and watch me craft sometimes. Between the water spot on my shirt and the brown paint under Zeus, it looks like Zeus may have had an explosion…. but thankfully it’s just water and paint! 🦎

I hope you enjoyed this project. I sure did! Let me know in the comments what you would create in a tin! I read all of your comments and appreciate each one of you.
Thanks for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
