Chicken Coop Decor!

I’m decorating the coop because those girls need something purdy! And y’all need to see this video because my son Wesley and I made a visit to the coop and played with the ducks! (It’s in part two.)

Part two, because wifi!

Simple supplies for this craft, y’all!

Dollar Tree: Thermometer, raffia

Stash: Burlap, E6000

Lowes or Home Depot: Wood shims

Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax

Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: Apothecary

Lizzy and Erin: Water Girl Continuous Spray Bottle

Click here to see some of my very favorite crafting and decorating supplies! (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Let’s make it!

If you have been following my FB page or this blog, you’ll know that I often create surfaces with paint sticks or wood shims. The shims are wide at one end and narrow at the other. I stagger them to create my surfaces and I glue craft sticks on the back to hold them together.

And just like “that”, we have a new surface!

This Water Girl Continuous Spray Bottle is perfect for lots of uses. I used it here to mist the wood so the antique wax would go on smoothly, while also bringing out the woodgrain.

I dried my surface with my heat tool, then dry brushed the Apothecary on to give it some “country raggedy” charm.

Speaking of country raggedy, I cut and ragged the edges of some burlap, then glued onto the surface….

…and added the thermometer with hot glue an E6000. The hot glue dries right away while the E6000 is a permanent glue that can withstand heat and cold better than hot glue. It takes a while to dry, y’all.

Since I’m leaning this project on a shelf as part of the chicken coop decor, I am just using hot glue on the hanger. It doesn’t need extra security since it isn’t going to be hung.

A little raffia bow and here she is, y’all!

Oh y’all, these ducks! They are just as cute as can be! They star in the video above, in part two!

I think my favorite picture is the close up of the “huh?” face! I made some noises and he just tilted his head back and forth like a puppy!

While we were out “walking the ducks”, I saw this! We live in Washington state and I was so happy to see this camellia bloom! It’s just beautiful!

I’d love to hear from you. Just leave a comment about crafting, the chickens, ducks or camellias! I read them all.

Thank you for stopping by!

XOXO-Erin

I REALLY like the emails with the videos! I hate having to watch the replays on fb because I have to watch an ad and I can’t figure out how to shut that crap off. 😂 Anyway, I’ve seen all the projects in this email, and I love them all!! ❤️
