Hey girl, hey! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to 2025! Today we are using lots of Dollar Tree supplies, so our project is beautiful and as always, affordable!
If you missed the button crafts we did for Christmas, check them out by clicking on each link: Button Christmas Ornament, Button Christmas Tree, Sweet Button Angel.

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Two adhesive tiles, snowflake
Stash: Surface (A Dollar Tree pizza pan would do fine!), buttons
Amazon: Folk Art Silver Metallic, Stick Fast Glue, Deco Earth paint (black) Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: White Swan
Let’s make it!
I used two of the Dollar Tree adhesive tiles so my surface would be completely covered. You can see I clipped the edges of the largest one to fit the circle, then cut pieces from the second tile to fill in.
I hot glued the tiles to the surface and painted the tiles black. I dried it with my heat tool.
TIP: The tiles are plastic, so be careful with the hot glue and heat tool so the tile doesn’t melt.

I used the Dollar Tree snowflake, and Stick Fast glue to adhere the buttons onto it. I glued on the biggest ones first. You can see how the buttons are arranged in layers and by size.
Tip: If you don’t want to use buttons, I played around with some Dollar Tree 3D fabric puffy paint on the snowflake. You can also use any kind of paint markers like Posca. (See first image below.)

I sanded the tile down just a bit. I love how the sanded parts match the gray edge!

I painted the snowflake with Debi’s Design Diary White Swan, and dried it with my heat tool. I ended up dry brushing some Folk Art metallic silver over it, just a little.

I put beads under it to raise it up, then hot glued it to the surface.
TIP: Use your heat tool (or blow dryer) to melt the spider webby stuff from the glue gun.

I hope you’ll try this out and enjoy getting crafty! Let me know in the comments which button craft is your favorite! Links are at top of this blog.
