Hey girl, hey! Today, we are crafting with items that are mostly from the Dollar Tree. I love using inexpensive things to make something fun! Spoiler alert: there will be confetti, a struggle bus and who knows what else!
By the way, the Dollar Tree sign matches my shirt today! The shirt is from Walmart.
Check out the video below for all the steps or follow along here on the blog.

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: rectangle sign, little wood bunnies, light colored carrots, moss, craft stick, canvas bags (Mine came from Michaels, but I have seen them at the Dollar Tree)
Michaels: canvas bags (jewelry section), dark colored carrots
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan & White Wax
Amazon: Waverly Antique Wax, Distress Oxide Ink: Ground Espresso, Mod Podge, sanding sponge, Poly-fil Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Stash: beads, scrapbook paper (Hobby Lobby may have some like this)
Let’s make it!
But wait! Before we get started, today is Valentine’s Day, and I wanted to share these beautiful flowers from my husband, Dave. He’s a huge part of Lizzy and Erin, and definitely my sweet Valentine!

Y’all ready? Here we go!
To begin, I removed the hanger from the back and sanded down the glitter from the front. The sign just happened to be the right size for the 12 X 12 scrapbook paper cut in half, so I only needed one sheet.
I put Mod Podge on the sign to adhere the paper and dried it with my heat tool, then sanded down the edges of the paper.

The canvas bags are rounded at the bottom, but I wanted them straight. I just tucked the bottom in, forming a straight line, and hot glued it closed.
I stuffed the bags about 3/4 with Poly-fil and hot glued moss inside. I added glue after the moss to hold the carrots in. I put three carrots in each bag.

Carrots, fresh out of the garden will have some dirt on them, right? So I used my Distress Oxide Ink (Ground Espresso) to “dirty” the edges of the bags and carrots.
TIP: You can tea stain your bags and carrots if you prefer!

I painted my bunnies with Waverly Antique Wax while my son, Finn styled my hair. He had a specific style he was determined to achieve! Dave had to help with the hair tie…ouch! LOL! Dave and my new hairdresser must have had other clients because they took off as soon as I saw the new “style”! But THEN, they came back with the confetti cannon! Do all of their customers get the free confetti treatment, or am I just special?
Y’all, it can get crazy up in here!

Salon time is over! I decided the Waverly was pretty dark, so I dry brushed the bunnies with White Swan from Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint and hot glued them to the bags. They look like little chocolate bunnies! Next, I brushed my ink pad along the sides of the sign to “dirty” it up a bit, you know, garden-ish!
I’m gonna be honest y’all, inking the edges just about did me in! It’s paper and ink, so I had to be careful. I used a paint brush spritzed with water to thin out the ink, also added some white wax to cover it.
I didn’t even see the struggle bus coming, flashing lights and all! It’s pine, y’all. It’s just pine.

I made a bow with burlap and ribbon and hot glued it to the top of my sign. Next, I glued the raffia onto the bags and glued them to the sign. I added a hanger to the back with beads, twine, hot glue and a craft stick to hold it in place.
TIP: Use an even amount of beads so your project will hang evenly.

What a fun and crazy craft time, y’all! The video has all the fun, so don’t miss it! Let me know in the comments what you think. I appreciate all of your comments!
