Hey y’all, hey! Today we are crafting with some fun supplies from Walmart, Dollar Tree, my stash and some stamps from Milton’s Daughter. It’s feeling like fall, and I am so excited to create these cool weather crafts that even if we have another heat wave, we have some fresh autumn designs to enjoy!
Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog to see all the steps to make your own fall decor.

Supplies:

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Gypsy Green, Gravel Road, Iron Orchid Designs Letterpress stamps
Walmart: Bandana
Dollar Tree: Twisted paper ribbon (purchased a while back), stretch canvas
Amazon: Ranger Distress Oxide ink in Ground Espresso, Mod Podge, Waverly Antique Wax, Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Stash: Burlap, wood rounds, tiny bird, muslin
Let’s make it!
I had a stretched canvas in my stash that I had done a reverse technique (take canvas out of the frame and frame it again, putting the canvas behind the wood) and I had painted the frame gray. I used Mod Podge to apply a background with a napkin, but we are going to just craft right over it. Use what you have, girl!
I used a palette knife to apply streaks of Gravel Road (gray) from Milton’s Daughter onto the surface, then dried it with my heat tool.

I prepared the fabric petals by putting Mod Podge on the bandana, ironed the fabric onto burlap, then cut out the petals. This process makes them sturdy. I stained the wood centers with Waverly Antique Wax, and wiped off the excess with a paper towel.

For the leaves and stems, I used twisted paper ribbon. I once had green paper ribbon, but all I have now is a white / ivory color so I painted it with Gypsy Green from Milton’s Daughter. Once I painted the stems, I used a wet paper towel to rub on just a bit of Waverly Antique Wax. I hot glued them and the petals onto the surface.
Before my video, I unraveled some of the paper, painted it green and cut out leaf shapes. Next, I hot glued them on.

I added wired garland with buds around the stems and a tiny bird at the bottom of the project. I ironed a little strip of muslin and stamped “bloom” with Letterpress stamps from Iron Orchid Designs. I used my Ranger Ground Espresso ink pad to add a rustic touch to my frame.

And we’re done! Isn’t she just a sweet nod to fall?

Before I go, check this out: we did this project a while back with sunflowers made from some metal thingies from Habitat for Humanity’s thrift store. Click HERE to see the blog post!
