April / May 2026 Woodshop Launch: She Shed and Patriotic Banner

Hey y’all, hey! We are in the midst of our May 2026 Woodshop launch, and it’s a biggie! Today we are finishing up yesterday’s Rustic Spindle Flag and then making the Simple Patriotic Banner and the Forget the She Shed sign.

Check out the video below, or follow along here for all the steps!

Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax

Let’s make it!

I’m crafting with three projects at the same time y’all, so here we go!

I started out by painting the Simple Patriotic Banner before the live video, but I think I need to do something different with the blue. We’ll see! Then I began painting the letters for the Forget the She Shed sign. I used black for some of the letters and Waverly Antique Wax for the rest. I also painted the frame with Waverly.

I painted the wreath with my black paint pen, glued the pieces on with Stick Fast glue, and we have a finished project!

For the banner: I added some Waverly stain to the banner pieces of the Simple Patriotic Banner just to make it more rustic. I spritzed some water on the Waverly and wiped it off with a paper towel.

I sanded the edges of the star and hearts to remove some of the Waverly. I did the same with the red and white striped banner pieces by antiquing with Waverly and sanding. I used Stick Fast glue to glue the pieces on.

Now for a high tech technique: toothbrushes for paint splatters! Most of the splatters are white, but I added some black too.

And we have some great projects for the upcoming July 4 holiday decor!

Let me know in the comments what your favorite project is today! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
