Hey girl, hey! Today I’m sharing THREE crafts that are simple and will bring a smile to your crafty heart!
We have a framed cow print, a funky flower and a mirrored tray upcycle. It’s gonna be fun, so y’all check out the video below or just follow along here.

Supplies:

Cow card from our friend Ms. Susan Leirdahl
Thrifted: Pink frame, yellow metal thing (our friends say they go on ceiling lights or are vent pipe covers), pink (possibly depression) glass dish, mirrored tray, wooden peg dolls
Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Apothecary, White Swan
Dollar Tree: Drawer knob
Goodwill Outlets: Doo-dad for the funky flower
Stash: Wood round
Amazon: Rub ‘n Buff, gold leaf sheets, Mod Podge, DAP Rapid Fuse super glue, Apple Barrel black acrylic paint Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Let’s make it!
I painted the wooden peg dolls with Apple Barrel black, then sanded them down just a bit.
Next, I hot glued them to use as feet for my tray.

We COULD just stop right here because… GORGEOUS! But just wait… it’s gonna be over-the-moon gorgeous!
TIP: The jars are from Dollar Tree and painted with Apothecary. I keep Q-Tips, cotton balls and cotton makeup pads in them.

One of our friends (on the live video) suggested I use Rub ‘n Buff on the feet, and I liked it so much I kept going!
(Rub ‘n Buff is a gold (or silver) paste that is used to give shimmery highlights or even complete coverage over metal, wood and other surfaces.)

Boom Chakka Lakka! It’s a step up from the one we started with. Both are beautiful, and the best part? You can decide if you want to go plain or fancy, just a bit of gold here and there or none at all!

Let’s make the yard art funky flower!
Y’all can find lots of ideas for these on Pinterest. I want to make a ton of them for my yard!
I used E-6000 glue to adhere the yellow metal piece to my dish, then set that aside.
Next, I put Mod Podge on my wood round. Then I placed a sheet of gold leaf over it and using the paper that came between the leaves, I gently pounced the leaf onto the wood.
You’ll see in the final image that the gold was too bright, so I dry brushed a little Debi’s Design Diary White Swan over it.
TIP: You can substitute any round item for the flower center. I used the wood because it fit just right!
TIP: Gold leaf sheets are super thin, but you’ll get the hang of it the first time you work with them.

For the flower center, I painted Apothecary over the yellow to tone it down a little, then added some wood pieces to the bottom of my wood round to boost it up. (The screw on the drawer knob was touching the glass.)
I added that metal doo-dad between the drawer knob and the wood round, which made it all just right!
I used DAP Rapid Fuse super glue to adhere the wood to the metal.

Y’all, I just love this! We have different textures: wood, metal, glass and we even have some shimmer!
TIP: How to hang: some of the makers on Pinterest use a metal spoon as a hanger. They bend the handle, glue it to the back of the dish to hang on a fence or in a PVC or metal pipe.
TIP: Just get old dishes and layer them! You can drill through the glass or china, but please go on Pinterest and learn all the tips and tricks before attempting drilling so you can craft safely!

Now for the framed cow print! Our friend Ms. Susan Leirdahl sent me this absolutely adorable cow greeting card, and I know, I know, that thrifted bubble gum pink frame would look so cute with it… but pink just doesn’t go with things in my house. The glass doesn’t come out, so when I painted the frame with Apothecary, I was being careful around the inside edge between the frame and the glass.
Once painted, I hot glued the cow card into the frame. The final step was to add craft sticks on the back to give it extra security.

I can hardly stand how stinkin’ CUTE this turned out!

And of course, our cow is perfect when hanging on a wall or even standing on the new glass tray! I gave him a little silk plant and a metal bird to keep him company.

This trifecta of crafts was so much fun! Let me know in the comments which is your favorite!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
