Hey y’all, hey! I was scrolling through Pinterest and saw this craft. I was so inspired and couldn’t wait to recreate it, but I want to do mine a bit more primitive.
This little bunny has tons of personality and is one of the cutest projects. It is also easy to create! I just love how it turned out.
Check out the video below or follow along here on the blog for all the steps!

I got my inspiration from DNJ Crafts and Creations on Pinterest. How cute are they? I have to go back and get the supplies for the chick now!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Wood shapes: heart and egg shape.
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan, Petticoat Pink
Amazon: Half wood bead Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Michaels: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Ground Espresso, carrots, Michaels Grab Bag: Greenery
Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax
Stash: Ribbons
Let’s make it!
First, I painted the wood pieces with Waverly Antique Wax, then sanded them down a little.

Next, I painted them with White Swan….

…and then dried them with my heat tool and sanded down the edges just enough to bring out the brown highlights.

I placed the half bead onto a piece of tape to paint it. The tape keeps the tiny pieces still while painting!

This is a new technique for me, but my crafty friends have inspired me to try it. I’m using this ink pad to distress the edges, and it’s a fun way to get a great effect.

Y’all know I DON’T do faces, right? Well, this little bunny is getting eyes, and that’s IT!
I used my Posca Paint Pen to make black dots for his eyes, and let the floral wire whiskers and little pink nose bring that cute face all together! Come on, wire and bead! You CAN DO it!
I twisted the wires around a pencil to make it curl, then hot glued them under the beaded nose. The combination made me giggle, because I wasn’t convinced the wire and bead were committed to taking one for the team!

I used wired jute for the ears, and that really did the trick for the face!
I brushed pink on for the cheeks, thinking that would be good to do before adding the whiskers, but it worked, girl.
We are close to putting on the feet now!

But before we glue on the feet, I’m going to decorate the bottom. I tied a bundle of ribbons, raffia, open weave jute ribbon and some greenery together for the “bow”, and added the carrots.
Then I glued on the feet.

And here she is!
She’s so cute, y’all! I love how she turned out.

Let me know in the comments what you think! I appreciate you all!
Thanks for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
