Hey girl, hey! I’m wishing spring would come tomorrow, but it’s still January here in Washington state, so let’s craft something spring-like! It’s a spring / Easter bunny with several basic supplies that you probably have in your stash!
Check out the video below, or follow along here on the blog for all the steps!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree: Heart frame, canvas bag, tiny wood heart (for nose), wood stumps
Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint:
Amazon: Super Moss Aspen Excelsior grass, Stick Fast thick glue, Deco Earth paint: Dusty Rose (pink) Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Walmart: Waverly Antique Wax, fabric for ears
Goodwill Outlet bins: Candlestick (was from Interior Accents / Robin’s Nest before it hit the thrift store!)
Thrifted: Wire for whiskers
Stash: Pipe cleaners, fabric, floral sprigs, mini grapevine wreath
Let’s make it!
I spritzed the heart frame with water and used Waverly Antique Wax to give it a little antiqued look. Here’s the process: spritz with water, apply a light coat of Waverly, wipe with a wet cloth or paper towel to get an aged, antique look.
I used a small sponge dauber to paint some white over the areas that were too dark so my candlestick and heart frame would be the same color tone.

I cut a piece of a Dollar Tree canvas bag to use as fabric for my bunny face. I hot glued it to the back of the heart, then trimmed away the excess.

I used the sponge dauber to make a pink nose and rosy cheeks with Dusty Rose Deco Earth paint, then hot glued wire whiskers, the nose and eyes to the face. To make whiskers, just curl the wire around the handle of a paint brush or pencil. (I also used Stick Fast (thick) glue for the whiskers since the hot glue left stringy strings. Y’all know…).

I formed the ears with pipe cleaners, hot glued them to fabric then trimmed around the edges. Next, I hot glued the edges closed, added some brown to the centers with a small dauber and hot glued the ears to the back of the bunny head.

The top of the candlestick is metal so I used Stick Fast glue to add a wood round to it. This will make the other parts adhere better than if I were to glue everything to the metal. I hot glued the little wreath to the candlestick and added some sticks, moss and excelsior grass to the wreath.

I hot glued some greenery, silk flowers and wired bud garland to the wreath and also glued wood stumps to the bunny to make her stand. I added a messy bow on top with fabric strips, raffia and greenery and added a button in the middle.

Here she is in all her bunny glory!
