Hey y’all, hey! One thing that brightens up a dreary winter after the holidays is Valentine crafting! And even better is sharing it with your favorite Valentine. Of course, you can keep it for yourself, and you might want to! Check out the video below or follow along here to see how to make one.

Let’s make it!
I used two wood planks from a pack I bought from Lowe’s on clearance. My husband Dave cut them for me for this project. You can use a long sign from Dollar Tree, just remove any 3D decorations and sand the glittery parts off and then paint the sign whatever color you want.
I pressed them together to make the center edges meet, and hot glued craft sticks to hold them. Next, I put masking tape along the edge to create a frame effect. The tape can be as close or far from the edge, depending on the size of “frame” you want. Measure if you want, or eyeball it like I did!
I used black paint from Deco Earth to paint the edges, peeled the tape up, and now we have a frame!
TIP: Put Mod Podge along the edge you are planning to paint. It helps to not bleed under the tape.

I had already prepared the stamped muslin sentiment, and just tacked it on the bottom. It is stamped with the IOD Letterpress stamps and ink from Milton’s Daughter.

Let’s make the hearts!
I found these heart ornaments in the Christmas clearance section of Walmart.
First, I removed all the tags and hangers from the hearts and used Petticoat Pink from Debi’s Design Diary to paint a light coat on each of them. Next, I dried them with my heat tool.
I used E6000 as a permanent glue and hot glue for an immediate hold.
I added little gingham bows on the tops of all three hearts. Now it’s time for the hanger!

I used a bead threader from Amazon (listed above in the supply list). All you have to do is thread your beads on it, tie a knot in one end, put your twine through that open end and pull the beads onto your twine!
TIP: Use an even amount of beads so it will hang correctly. I used 18 beads on mine.

My method for placing hangers is to hot glue the twine ends to the back, and put a craft stick over the ends for extra security.
